PlanSmart.UK-SRL Consulting is a collaborative association of advisers with a wide range of business critical skills. 


Dr Steven Lipworth, the team leader, is a strategic risk analyst and business skills trainer with over 30 years' experience in helping organizations in the UK and abroad to identify and address vulnerabilities in their organizational and operational strategies, in volatile and uncertain business environments. 


Steven has a doctorate in environmental economics and policy, a masters degree in marine science and professional qualifications in business management and organizational psychology.


In 1997, he was awarded a three year Wellcome Fellowship in Science Advice at the Royal Society (UK Academy of Science). Thereafter he entered the consultancy sector where he conducted strategy evaluation projects for several organizations including: the Wellcome Trust, the Institute of Physics, the European Science Foundation and the Global Forum for Health Research in Geneva. Steven also advised the Royal Society of Chemistry on environment, health & safety policy and regulation from 2002 to 2019.


Steven's current activities include developing professional skills in decision-making, managing uncertainty and contingency planning. He has created and run successful training courses in technology and public policy for the Judge Business School and the Departments of Public Policy, Construction Engineering and Executive Education at Cambridge University and the Engineering Systems Division at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
